Every bolted GLS or epoxy tank of any real size is erected with a jacking system. The jacks decide how fast the job goes, how safe the crew is, and whether the tank ends up level and true. That is why at El Safa we design and manufacture our own lifting jacks.
How jacking erection works
Instead of building the tank from the bottom up with cranes and scaffolding, the crew assembles the roof and the top ring of panels at ground level. A set of jacks placed evenly around the inside of the tank lifts that section by one panel height. The next ring is bolted in underneath, the jacks lift again, and so on until the bottom ring is fixed to the foundation.

What makes a good jacking system
The jacks must be matched to the weight of the tank and the number of lifting points, lift together so the shell stays level, and have reliable mechanical locking so the load can never drop. They also need to be easy to move, set up and maintain on site.
Why we manufacture our own
We have erected many bolted tanks and learned what works on real sites. Building our own jacks in Egypt means we can size the system for each tank, keep spare parts on hand, and mobilise immediately without renting or importing equipment. It also keeps our erection prices competitive.
